What do you think the skill balance is about? HA "farmers" typically use overpowered, easy to run builds. If those builds are too good, there are nerfs to those skills that make up those builds. And "farming" in PVP isnt like farming in PVE, you may have the builds but you still have to beat an human opponent who may or may not have the same overpowered build as you.

Also limiting classes per team is far too restricting and unnecessary. There are some skills that only need two or three copies on a team to be overpowering, so limiting it to 3 per profession won't do squat.

This made me laugh. IWAY IS for beginners. It was easy to run and was effective and required little to no skill.

I won't shed a tear over Avatar of Grenth getting hammered. It was so good that it's still dangerous after eating a significant duration nerf.

Paragon nerfs are a mixed bag. Going down the list:

"Stand Your Ground!": After thinking about this one a bit, I like where it ended up. It's still very powerful in this form, albeit spendy.

"They're on Fire!": Eh I haven't been impressed with this one, well, ever. Don't think I'll be playing with this version anytime soon.

Angelic Bond: Glad to see it hit hard, I can still see this getting spot usage. You just won't see this being dropped on the entire team anymore.

Slayer's Spear: Didn't really consider this a problem, though in retrospect it was comparable to Vicious / Spear of Lightning due to the high +damage and fast recharge. In any case this was overnerfed, this skill is slag now.

Vicious Attack: Like the change, this was only really silly with massed GftE spam, longer recharge moderates the usage without destroying the skill.

Cruel Spear: I didn't think it was a problem, the condition on the Deep Wound is very significant - I thought the skill was a bit weaker than Eviscerate before, moreso now. On the other hand I'd probably run this on every Paragon I'd think of because all the other Paragon elites are so bad.

"Incoming!": Ok, so it's terrible now...was it too good before or something? Don't know where this change came from.

Overall I'm torn on what was done. On one hand, most of the real problem skills got this time around, and hard enough to break up Paragon madness in PvP. On the other hand...several skills that really weren't problems were hammered, and that worries me. Paragons, even right at release, had only a handfull of playable skills sitting atop a pile of garbage...as more of those skills get slagged, the Paragon is quickly turning into a graveyard of weak skills. Paragons don't have a single elite that I really want to use in any facet of the game anymore, and that's pretty distressing. Sure, most of the high points have been hit, but the profession needs *buffs* to all these underpowered skills *badly*.

Peace,
-CxE

well analnet..i mean arena net has nerfed paragons to uselessness.. why? because there were 8 paragons in gvg...wow big deal..

any profession w/ 8 of em running around is deadly
8x edenial mesmerS?
8x bloodspike necros?
8x monk smiters?
8x earth eles?
8x sf eles?
8x rangers?

[sarcasm]omg ! may b we should "BALANCE" every skill and add a 45 sec recharge to all of em! that will fix them [/sarcasm]

why not buff vocal minority/ roaring winds rather than smashing the paragons with the nerf bat

This sort of garbage is what makes the average PVP player view the PVE community with disdain. No attempt to understand, no attempt to suggest a better option, just pure QQ.

As far as the Nerf bat I do believe like I have said in teh past that it needs retired before it ruins the game further.
A little more on this rant: Who do we go to whenever we have any problems with the game? Not A-Net but NC-Soft the makers of the game.

Here is the link to the support site for you disbelievers: http://www.plaync.com/us/support/prod_48.html

Taken straight from Arenanet.coms website :
Located in Bellevue, Washington, ArenaNet is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Korea-based NCsoft Corporation. The studio was formed in the spring of 2000 with the goal of creating a state-of-the-art interactive game network, and of developing premier multiplayer, online games. Having built such a network, ArenaNet continues to improve upon it, keeping stride with current technology and offering new and innovative approaches, such as a subscription-free business model, instanced missions, and streaming updates, which eliminate the need for patching.

ArenaNet's diverse staff has come together from many different countries and cultures. The team members speak a variety of languages, which—with the common bond of a love for games—helps them understand the needs of the global gaming community, and allows them to listen and respond to feedback from fans around the world. In keeping with the spirit of bringing people together, ArenaNet designs and operates servers that allow gamers to play with anyone, anytime, anywhere in the world.

Mega Mouse
you are completely WRONG! NCSoft is just the publisher, THEY ARE NOT THE CREATORS OF THIS GAME. everyone who plays this game knows that. NCSoft do not influence the changes to ArenaNet for Guild Wars. if you had read any articles on Patrick Wyatt, Mike O'Brien and Jeff Strain the founders of ArenaNet, their vision was to make Guild Wars they wanted to create a subscription free game. that's why they left Blizzard and Battle.Net

if you had check out the community day thread or anything that involves going to ArenaNet headquarters in Seattle,Washington, you'll see that they do all the work developing the game and showing how they are creating the game. it's even in the Nightfall collector's edition DVD. you never see in NCSoft American headquarters located in Austin, Texas. why? because NCSoft is the PUBLISHER, they only support ArenaNet. if NCSoft started doing even more poorly and Guild Wars was still making sales, NCS would sell ArenaNet to another publisher and we'll still be playing Guild Wars under the new publisher. the only games that were created by NCSoft was Lineage and Lineage 2.

http://arena.net/press/pr-021211.php

on-topic: the nerf to the paragon was a little harsh, I think should tweak the skills a little more so they won't them completely useless. and I have a hard time believing that some of the skill changes was caused by PvP, there must be something more to this.

Some1 said here that people should be whining about PvE because its repetitive and rather pointless character expansion wise...

Well I can't find the post but whoever said that GG because you hit the mark, skill nerfs for pve are rather pointless except farming wise.

I don't care what anyone tries to argue for it, I beat all the chapters running 1 fricken skill bar on my war, necro, and monk and so have many others (im not going to name names, we all know its possible).

Change pve structurally, not through pvp balances.

Anyone else agree?

This is turning into flames and cyclic PvE vs PvP banter which never goes anywhere.
